Before You Order your custom video clip
We try to make it simple to order a clip that shows just you (and likely some people around you). But there are some options you might consider.
1. View the uncut video and note the approximate time (min:sec) showing when you'd like us to begin and end your clip. (We bump our price up if the total time is over 30 seconds.)
2. Decide whether you want your clip to be "public" or "unlisted." If it's unlisted, it can only be viewed by those people to whom you give the URL, and those to whom those people give the URL, and those to whom... etc., ...and perhaps by some monkeys who happen to randomly type something like http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E_AfIJ6AHkU into the address box of their browsers.
3. If you are planning to simply link to YouTube, there are areas for description, category, and tags. If you'd like us to put information in these fields, you can tell us on the order form. These don't show if you're embedding a viewer in a web page.
4. A "YouTube title" is usually displayed near the top of the player, but there are differences in where it appears, and (if it's a "long" title) in how many characters show, depending on the size of the embedded player, and on what browser the viewer is using. You can view the same clip in two different size players below. If you'd like to try embedding various size players on your web page, the text to "cut and paste" is given "here." On the order form we show the "YouTube title" that we will use if you don't tell us to use something different or to use no title.
5. We usually edit the clip to display a title within the video. Again, we'll show you what we plan to use but you can order something different if you want.
